Sure, a super-sturdy high-quality carrier bag from a high-end retailer can be reused a bunch of times, but how many places still use them? Almost none. The plastic bags they use for groceries are so feeble that you’re lucky if they last long enough to get your groceries into the car! If you want to reuse them as a trash bag, you’re out of luck because they’re full of holes already. Some of the supposedly reusable bags they make now aren’t much better. Nylon shopping bags are the most efficient in the long run, and probably closest to what the original inventor had in mind – they’re strong, sturdy, easy to use, easily washable, and they’re very compact so you’re not cluttering your whole car with them. Carry a bag in your purse or pocket and you’ll never be without it. This is extremely misleading.
