I don’t know how important giving up the royal status have an effect on her life afterward and why the media focus on that point always. In Japan, this point comes at second. She is no longer privileged as she has to live under the same rule as everyone else. As to that. she is probably well prepared and can keep her dignity wherever she was.
But she is hardly been put out on the street, she would have more than likely had her husband chosen if she had stayed a princess. The smart girl married for love. And still gets to keep the money. Love conquers all, and no amount of money can buy her happiness. And her happiness is to be around the one she loves. One more thing she wants to live a normal life, normal life is much more excited than royal families that have such rules to follow. God bless to the newlyweds.
